The Pakistan Economy Watch (PEW) on Sunday said that the government should give first preference to provide relief to the masses and avoid unnecessary moves to divert the attention of masses from real issues. The masses facing runaway inflation are not interested in new provinces or division of provinces and they want some relief, it said, The recent demand for the division of Sindh by a political party was also an attempt to divert the attention of masses away from rising food prices and skyrocketing tariffs, said Said Dr. Murtaza Mughal, President PEW. The economic revival and provision of basic facilities should be the first priority of the government otherwise it will lose remaining popularity and crumble any time soon, he warned. Dr. Murtaza Mughal said that masses are not ready to pay attention to the habit of PTI rulers who always level allegations on previous governments to hide their incompetence. Within nine months the incompetent government had brought the country to a complete economic collapse as all sectors of the economy stand at the verge of disaster, he said.
